Protection of Information via Established Security Procedures

Farmers & Merchants Bank maintains strict security standards and procedures regarding unauthorized access to customer information. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal guidelines to guard your nonpublic personal information against unauthorized access or use. Our employees are subject to corporate policies that require maintaining the confidentiality of customer information.
We use industry-standard technology and procedures that allows us to properly authenticate your identity when you access our Online Banking services and protect your information as it traverses the Internet between your PC and our Online Banking System. If we have reason to suspect that an unauthorized individual is trying to access your account through Online Banking, we will contact you at the phone number on file before continued access is allowed. Please keep your contact information current. You can update your phone numbers via Online Banking or contact us at (912) 564-7436.

• Have current anti-malware and anti-virus software
• Make sure you have a firewall in place when conducting your financial transactions
• Log off the system when you’re done conducting business
• Monitor your account activity on a regular basis

Your Password

You will be responsible for maintaining one of the most important security measures: your password.  When you receive your Farmers and Merchants Bank Online banking password, be sure to keep it a secret.  Memorize it or write it down and keep it in a safe place. It is not recommended you carry your password in your purse or wallet.  Make sure no one watches you enter your password and always close your browser when leaving the computer.  Make sure you regularly scan your computer for viruses that could be used to capture password keystrokes.  You ultimately hold the key to your password security.

USA Patriot Act

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law REQUIRES all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you

When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
